The HSPnet Knowledge Base
The HSPnet Knowledge Base (KB) is a self-serve online library of information about HSPnet.
Launch the KB
To launch the KB:
- Log in to your provincial instance of HSPnet.
- In the left nav, select Help/Support. The Help/Support submenu opens.
- In the Help/Support submenu, select Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base opens to the Knowledge Base Homepage.
- From the Knowledge Base Homepage, you can find answers to your questions or HSPnet documentation using the Search function (Note: you may have to enlarge your browser window or using the vertical ellipsis to view the Search box) or by browsing through the KB.
KB Structure
The KB is configured much like a library:
- All of the information in the KB is contained within the library.
- The library contains shelves, e.g., Placing Agency Management, Receiving Agency Management, etc.
- Shelves contain books, e.g., the Placing Agency Management shelf contains the books Agencies, Course Maintenance, Departments, Terms, etc.
- Books contain pages, e.g., on the Placing Agency Management shelf, the book Course Maintenance contains the pages Create a New Course, Course Maintenance Overview, etc.
- In the KB, there are three types of pages:
- Text with images, e.g., Create a New Course.
- Embedded video, which plays video content from PHSA’s Vimeo account, e.g., Create New Course (3 min video).
- Scribe, an online tool HSPnet uses to capture a workflow and then create detailed, easy-to-follow instructions that include annotated screenshots, e.g., How to Create a New Course Step-by-Step Guide – Scribe.
KB Homepage
The KB Homepage is divided into six sections:
- Getting Started – Links to information needed to get you started in HSPnet, by role.
- Start Browsing – Links to all shelves in the KB library.
- Training Resources – Register for a webinar, view training videos organized by role, or view step-by-step tutorials.
- Useful Links – Links to national and province-specific resources, glossaries, and recorded webinars.
- What’s New in HSPnet? – Find out about enhancements and upcoming features.
- Need Support – Connect to support.
KB Search
- The search bar in the header allows you to search across all books, chapters and pages in the KB.
- When viewing a book or chapter, the search bar in the top left sidebar searches across all child items of the open book or chapter.
- Enclose your search terms within quotation marks to limit the search results to exact matches, e.g., “Placing Coordinator”.
- It’s possible to negate a search term using “-“, e.g., “Placing Coordinator” -Agency filters out all Placing Coordinator results that contain Agency.
