Placing &amp; Receiving Agency Related Guide (PARG RARG)**

**Summary:**

Guide for Placing Coordinators, Receiving Coordinators or Destination Coordinators to add a staff supervisor to a student placement. Staff supervisors can be entered as any of the following terms: Supervisor, Preceptor, Clinical Instructor, Clinical Educator, Fieldwork Guide, Mentor.

These add new instructions work on drop down lists for instructors and destination coordinator lists too.

Open the request details icon details (ibubble icon)image.pngin the out or inbox, or click preview and enter a new supervisor using the supervisor/preceptor drop down list in the*the preview  pending requestsscreen. screen., or in the inbox or the outbox.* The term that appears on your screen: Supervisor, Preceptor, Clinical Instructor, Clinical Educator, Fieldwork Guide, or Mentor - has been chosen as the default term by your local administrator for your department.

Click the Supervisor/preceptor drop down list and click "Add New."  This is the second selection from the top; the first selection is a blank line that can also be saved if you need to remove a name but don't yet have a new name to add.

An “add staff” screen should open – if it does not, check your browser for an indication that your window “pop up blocker” may be turned on. There should be an option to “always allow pop ups from this site.” Once pop-up blockers are shut off,  click  “Add new” again, and the “add staff screen should open.

  • First and last name must be added: Please use capitalization and correct spelling. If the staff only has one name, please put that name in both first and last name fields.
  • Add as much information that you can that is appropriate
  • Save the changes
  • Close the window

  • Save the name to the request by clicking the green check mark; this check mark will appear beneath the name on the left on the contacts screen in destination details, or on the right hand side of the name in preview windows
